Welcome to my practice

I am a licensed clinical psychologist in San Francisco, CA working with adults, young adults, and couples on a variety of issues. People often come to therapy when there is a gap between their desired lives and their present day reality, creating a range of symptoms that cause further distress.

Therapy is a slow process of uncovering the unique flavors of someone’s internal world, allowing them to make decisions from a freer state of mind. Therapy is a vulnerable and intimidating experience and it is important to make sure that your therapist is a good fit. Read more on this website to gauge if we may be a good match.

My approach

I view our work as a collaborative project that we are co-creating. I am trained in a relational psychodynamic framework, which is a depth-oriented approach that aims to get at the root of distress in order to bring about lasting change. I bring care, compassion, curiosity, directness, and humor to this sometimes painful task we have. I am interested in exploring how dynamics in one’s upbringing—relational, familial, socio-cultural—set the groundwork for dynamics in one’s present. I bring gentleness to exploring the ways in which the therapeutic relationship can mirror dynamics in someone’s external world. And perhaps most importantly, I am eager to know someone’s dreams for their future in order to better understand what might be getting in the way.
